Coimbatore holds a special place in Shri Radhakrishnan's political journey. The industrial city in Tamil Nadu elected him twice to the Lok Sabha in 1998 and 1999, trusting him to represent their voice in Parliament during a critical period following the 1998 Coimbatore bombings.

His 1998 victory with a margin of 144,676 votes remains one of the most decisive electoral mandates in the constituency's history. As MP, he focused on industrial safety, textile worker welfare, local development projects, and disaster relief โ€” earning lasting goodwill from the people of Coimbatore.
